First Federal Savings Bank of Wabash announces name change, new logoWABASH, IND. — Effective January 1, First Federal Savings Bank of Wabash will have a new name, Crossroads Bank.
According to bank officials, the main reason for the change is to have a name that separates the bank from its competition.
“There are a number of competitors in our current and future markets who also use the ‘First Federal’ name,” said Roger Cromer, president and CEO. In fact, within a 50-mile radius of its main banking center in Wabash are three different banks—all with the First Federal Savings Bank name.
“We believe a name change is necessary to provide a distinctive name that’ll minimize confusion in our surrounding markets and carve out a unique space just for our bank.”
Cromer stressed that First Federal Savings Bank of Wabash will remain the same bank with the same ownership, management, and products.
“We want to make it clear that we’ll continue to be headquartered in Wabash with locations in Columbia City, North Manchester, South Whitley, and Syracuse. We’ve not been sold to any other bank. As of January 1, we’ll just have our own unique identity.”
What’s more, the name change marks a new era for the financial institution founded in 1920, said Jennifer Southers, vice president retail banking.
“While we highly value our 87-year-old heritage as a locally owned, community bank, we’ve evolved over the years from a traditional savings and loan to a full-service, locally owned, community bank,” said Southers.
“This name change gives us a chance to tell that story—to celebrate our growth and what we can offer to customers. That includes solid community support, superior personal service, an extensive array of financial products and services, and timeless values that customers can trust.”
New logo and celebration events Along with the name change on January 1, the bank will roll out a new logo and 45 days of Celebration Events. These include: - Gifts for new accounts opened from January 2 - February 15 - Special CD offer - Free ATM services on selected products - No closing costs on mortgages applied for from January 2 - February 15
